Today Zorah and I are going to to the ancient city Jennejeno! I woke up very late, as usual, and I had nothing to do so I decided to go to Jennjeno. I think its cool I get to see something that's not around in present time, however I'm not that excited to go because all these towns seem the same to me. As I get ready I notice that Zorah is gone. I was very very worried when I saw a very small note on the fridge saying If you want your sister come to Jennejeno at 2:30 if not she will be fed to the dogs! I was very bewildered at what I saw. I glanced at the clock and saw it was 2:00 I had no time. I threw on some shorts and a swim suit top( it was VERY VERY hot) and sprinted outside. I was scared very very scared.
The dirt road was hot on my feet sweat on my brow I could see the city looming ahead. I had made it there in what seemed like 10 minutes which made it 20 minutes to find her. It was hard to go fast with all the sights and homes. Kids ran through out the streets and it was what seemed like a joyful place. Moms were weaving baskets and others keeping the house. I saw some men getting ready to go hunting and one old man was helping build a house. I knew time was running out and I had to hurry but it was hard the Niger river glistened in the sun kids were swimming I wanted to get in but I couldn't.
I knew looking just standing and looking at the town was fruitless, but I couldn't help it. It was beautiful not like I thought it would be. I saw a very small dark home on the Bani river. It was made by mud brick, woven mats and bent poles. There was a sudden void in my heart with out Zorah. Panicking I rushed over to the house and went inside. I was surprised at what I saw. Eyes open jaw dropped I went deeper in the home surprised at what I saw.
It was Zorah! She was a chair! She was wiggling trying to get out. I walked in front of her, I was as happy as could be and I untied her from the chair. She gave me a BIG hug and then we were on out way. I was excited to be exploring the town with my sister! We went for a swim in the Niger river which was really fun! The water was refreshing and a good way to cool off after a long day! It was a nerve racking but had a good ending.
Today I learned to not judge a book by its cover. I thought that town was going to be boring and I wasn't going to have any fun. My day was the exact opposite! I had alot of fun and some scares, but over all it was great! I know I wont be thinking all towns are the same anymore! They are all diffrent and they would be boring if they were all the same!
i like it but need to edit m:jennejeno to m:5 :)
