Hello everyone, today Ella, Zorah, and I are going to Medieval Europe!!! I'm very excited to go because we have a midterm coming up on Medieval Europe. I think this will be our best trip yet working for TTI. Right now I am on our new private jet Sr. Volpe(our new manager) gave to Ella for joining TTI.We should be landing in about 5 mins. Out my window I can see a HUGE castle with knights guarding it. I also see the surfs tending to their manors and the kids hurtling inside for dinner. Zorah is adjacent to my right with her nose in a book as we land.
On the the ground the crisp cool air is whistling in my ears. I feel the cold through my sweats jacket and uggs.BRRRRRR! The leaves crunching on my every step. It reminds me of New York , home sweet home....kinda. What I thought was our driver, but turned out to be a horse pulling a wagon. It was an okay ride but the aroma of horse poop filled the air:(. I liked the market place, it was very lively and kids were running around everywhere. We pulled up to a nice house with a little old lady standing outside with a nice warm smile.
The kind women let us in her home and said we would be staying there for the next couple of days. Her name was Amelia, she was very old and was happy to have us in her home. She had a small little one room with another family living in it. The other family was very kind, they had 2 daughters (ages 4 and 7) Lily and Aurora and they had a 2 year old son Jack. I really liked talking her and I got to spend a day doing what she does. We woke up at 4am, very early for me, and got to work. We made breakfast for the family, cleaned the house, played with the kids went to the market, which smelled of feet and manure, to get some grain and came home. Then we made dinner and got the kids ready for bed. I never realized how hard it was to be a surf.
The next day we went to see the monarch Charlemagne! His palace was amazing and his family was very nice, however it was hard to communicate with the language difference(they speak French). We only got to spend 20 minutes with him though, he had an execution to do.When we got back to Amelia's she wasn't looking to good...she said it was a disease she thought a rat she found in her basement was the carrier. I stayed inside with her and tended to her every need, and catering her food. Its all I could do to repay her for letting us stay with her. The next morning she passed away :(. Sadly little Aurora had the same symptoms, but it was our last day and we had to go.
On the plain I did some research on the sickness and it turns out the rat had fleas that carried a deathly disease called the Bubonic Plague. I felt awful leaving them. It was a pretty good trip and defiantly one I will never forget. I
